Swingers London brings you a total of 18 holes, of the craziest loops and turns, to test your golfing skills. Within a space under the Gherkin they have a packed an experience that has to be shared. The location is great, easy, accessible. Yet, you come here for a gin terrace, street food and to score low.
For a pre-Christmas soiree the Pearl & Pear team took to the turf!
The Swingers Experience
From the moment you enter everything’s got a quirky touch. As the staircase descends vintage photos mimicking movie stars and Hollywood names playing golf decorate the walls. Our personal favourite being Marilyn Monroe! We were greeted by a friendly golf caddy at reception who organised our game cards, pencils and showed us in the direction of our dedicated course. The music is loud, the atmosphere is buzzing and it’s evident everyone’s having fun.
Swingers in the City, has two golf courses, The Lighthouse and The Windmill, both as challenging as each other. They have included holes that involve putting your ball along a narrow bridge, shooting it through loop-de-loops, and past sand bunkers. We think the trick of the game is to take your time, have the most fun as possible and cheer your team mates on. There’s always a caddy nearby for a handy tip if you do need one.
Swingers have also announced a sister site to the City, based in the West End. The new seaside themed golfing experience launches mid-March 2018. You can reserve your tickets now.
The Street Food
We arrived early so we took a seat in the street food area and ordered a delicious tray of Nachos from DF/Mexico stall. Oozing with cheese, jalapeños and filled with crispy chips it was a great place to start. The ordering system works on a ticket basis, order from any bar around the venue and when your number appears red you can grab it yourself from the stalls.
Golfing is hard work, once complete we chose Mexican again and tried the Tacos. With a mouth-watering selection available it was hard to choose; we went for Baja Fish and Roasted Veg. All watered down with a glass of Champagne and Espresso Martini to finish of course.
What we loved
There’s so much choice! With five drinks bars there’s a selection for everyone. The Upper Clubhouse and Gin Terrace caught our eye, draped with gorgeous foliage and decorated with white wooden furniture. The whole place is available for exclusive hire up to 500 standing, or for smaller events The Committee Room is the perfect choice to feel exclusive within a buzzy space, up to 40 standing and 14 seated. That’s one to show your boss!

- Unique Selling Point: The quirky touch on all the decor!

- What we loved: The loop-de-loop, it made great Boomerangs.
- What we didn't love: It's over too quick, try and take your time but it does get a little busy.
- How to get there: Bank or Liverpool St station are short walks away.
