Everything you need to know
Kensington Palace have confirmed that the Royal Wedding will take place Saturday 19th May 2018. A date that already has a twist on tradition as royal weddings usually take place on a weekday – yet, it means we all get that day off to enjoy it! The afternoon service will take place at St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle. The Queen is expected to arrive at 11:55am, the last guest to enter, with the bride following soon after commencing the ceremony at 12 noon. Like Prince William and Kate’s wedding back in 2011, Prince Harry and Meghan’s day will also be aired live across several television channels. Set your reminders now!
The newly weds are planning to welcome a hearty 800 guests to their seated celebrations including close acquaintances and serving soldiers from the armed forces. If the occasion wasn’t exclusive enough, the couple have invited 200 guests to an after-party at Frogmore House. All of the central elements of the wedding, including the service, music, flowers, decorations and reception, will be paid for by the royal family. The cake – moving away from the traditional fruit cake – will be decorated with spring flowers and flavoured with elderflower and lemon. Designed and baked by Violet Cake’s Claire Ptak. The flowers – designed from the gardens and parkland of the Crown Estate and Windsor Park – will be arranged by our very own Phillipa Craddock.

Street Party Inspiration
In honour of Her Majesty’s 91st Birthday Absolute Taste hosted a gorgeously British Street party. We’re remembering the finishing touches and flamboyant inspiration for this summer’s Royal Wedding. Read all about the event and gather top tips from their expertise here.
Event Manager, Lizzie Maitheison at Absolute Taste has been telling us all about what food all the guests enjoyed at the party.
“We wanted our street party to showcase the best of British food and style. We served all-time favourites like sausage rolls. To add a twist we topped them all off with a pork crackling. The pork pies and scotch eggs were served with piccalilli. Finally mini fish and chips, all handmade by our chefs with local produce were served in British designed crockery and glassware. The table was covered in illustrative London-themed table runners and mini bottles of Pommery champagne with gold straws!”
