Fit for a princess
We are proud at Pearl & Pear to feature the most incredible venues within our Curated Supplier List. This list sees the best in the industry featured. Our handpicked favourites. We couldn’t be prouder that it features some of the capitals’ palaces! The stunning Kensington Palace is one of those.
We’ve always had a soft spot for the palace. I mean who wouldn’t love the drama of the space, party palace to the former royals and now home to many of the current monarchy. We were invited at Pearl & Pear to experience their exclusive new tour. Pinch yourself as you read this but you can now book a private tour an hour before the palace opens. The exhibition that people have queued for hours to see (Diana: Her Fashion Story), the rooms often filled with tourists – we saw them alone. Along with our private guide, Giorgio, we were taken on a tour of the exhibition and the palace.
Our tour continues
As we wandered through the rooms we were walked through the history of the palace and how hard the parties there were to get into. They sounded amazing, if not a little mad (we’ll let you find out for yourselves why!). We learned of the history, an insight into what the murals meant, and the rumours and stories of the palace. Walking into the King’s Gallery, regal music playing, Giorgio commented that he felt like a king and we can see what he means. Without the buzz of the public you can really start to imagine life at the palace.
Without a doubt you get so much more from having a guide than being self guided. The stories and little titbits of information feel special and really made us smile.
To think that it is just £500 + VAT for a tour for you and 9 friends is quite remarkable. We say a bargain for hiring a palace, even if only for an hour. We left as the public arrived, feeling like we’d been treated as princesses. Over the next few months there is much excitement at the palace and we can’t wait to reveal more…in the meantime snap up a tour!
