Spring Fling at the Tower of London

The event

The Tower of London, one of the six venues cared for by independent charity Historic Royal Palaces, welcomed 120 guests to an exclusive spring showcase.

The theme for the evening was Spring Fling, an evening to make guests feel like they were dining on holiday in Tuscany. Simultaneously the Tower of London team wanted to showcase the versatility of the venue’s event spaces. Whilst including contemporary theming and unique staging the event helped to communicate the various event concepts possible at the Tower.

A private viewing

On arrival guests enjoyed a Jewel House tour with a private viewing of the stunning Crown Jewels. After, they were guided into the White Tower for a drinks reception and delicious canapés.

Creative Catering in the New Armouries

Dinner followed in the New Armouries, with guests seated on rustic furniture provided by Great Hire. A deliciously designed menu by Food Show was served. The show-stopping catering featured dishes such as sous-vide hand dived scallops marinated in kaffir lime leaf and spring cannon of lamb with courgette and basil puree and pommes Anna. Yum! The room was adorned with fresh floral arrangements by Lavender Green and festoon lighting provided by Wise, reflecting the Spring Fling theme whilst adding a touch of the outdoors.

The Grand Reveal

 After dinner, the events team showcased the evening’s big reveal. The space had been divided into two rooms with the reveal of a previously hidden after-dinner terrace area.

The floor had been transformed into a beautiful garden with WOWGrass and decorated by Twilight Trees. The outdoor furniture gave the illusion of the outside being brought in to further enhance the evening’s theme.

Desserts were served on gorgeous vintage ladders and within ornate cupboards. The sweet treats included spring rhubarb trifle, mini eclairs with crystallised rose petal and raspberry as well as sticky toffee pudding with banana caramel sauce. During their dessert guests enjoyed the contemporary sounds of guitarist and singer J M Solo.
