One Events Summer House 2018

A word from the planner

“We wanted to host a fun summer party for all of the industry, so decided to throw open the doors to One Marylebone and welcome everyone to Summer House; an evening full of food, cocktails, entertainment and games. We are so grateful to all of the amazing suppliers that so generously helped bring the event to life and enabled us to throw such a fun party.”

An evening at the Summer House

In July One Marylebone, planned and styled by One Events, opened their doors for the much anticipated return of Summer House. The venue looked stunning, decorated with a colourful balloon installation by Bubblegum Balloons and a sky-high flamingo themed banner.

550 guests were welcomed at the beach hut entrance by beautifully styled hostesses before they stepped onto WOWGrass’ real grass path around the venue. Whilst exploring the venue guests interacted with fun summer-themed props including an oversized deck chair and huge pairs of flip flops, which made for some excellent Instagram posts! Early arrivals were rewarded with a bespoke flamingo cocktail served in beautifully designed individual glass bottles.

 Drinks in the courtyard

One Events made the forecourt an extension of the venue and set up a boutique wine bar to greet guests as they entered the space. David Knott of The Knotted Vine hosted the bar and educated guests, at length, about the wines available for the evening. Icebox also provided a much needed icey-centrepiece for a ‘grab and go’ beer station.

A luxurious spot in the sunshine

On the hottest day of the year so far, the garden was of course the most popular place to be! Outdoor lounge style seating and hammocks were available to the guests and festoon lighting created the perfect chill-out area. One Dining hosted a mini food market including a ‘Take a Bao’ station and BBQ dishes from a ‘License to Grill station’.

Embracing the summer vibes a ‘Pimms O’clock’ stall was set-up which was a huge hit throughout the evening. The three stations were an Instagrammable showpiece with huge bespoke menu boards.

Stepping inside the Summer House

Upon entering One Marylebone guests stepped through gorgeous blossom trees created by Wildabout. Soane Hall invited guests to party whilst hopping over a beach-themed bridge – a magical touch! Here guests could explore Smith & Sinclair’s immersive alcohol experience, snap and pose in a flower styled photobooth, or head straight to the main bar positioned underneath a striking orb installation hanging above from the decadent ceiling.

Let the games begin!

Wise Productions created an amazing atmosphere with lighting and sound and guests were excited to head to the competitive indoor garden games area, ran by Jamie Paskin and decorated with real grass from WowGrass! Guests had to complete across each fairground stall in order to make the leader board and take the crown!

… and dancing the night away!

When the clocks hit 9pm, Fortune Band took the stage and the dancing began, with Euphonica following on the decks. As the evening went on, dozens of selfies were taken at one of the main photo opportunities – a huge foliage wall by Wildabout which framed a fun red lips sofa. The talented Blake Ezra was on duty throughout, capturing the spirit of the evening for everyone to re-live long after the party finished.
