An Intergalactic Fabulous Fund Fair

The Fabulous Fund Fair

London’s Roundhouse went intergalactic as Natalia Vodianova hosted her Fabulous Fund Fair. The signature fundraising gala transformed the venue into a vibrant space-themed funfair. An event complete with a flying saucer carousel, all in aid of Vodianova’s Naked Heart Foundation, helping children with special needs.

A word from the planner

“It’s been nearly 14 years since I founded Naked Heart Foundation. All the effort and hard work we have put into fundraising for the charity is made worthwhile when I see the impact on all the children that we support. I continue to be eternally grateful to our sponsors, hosts and special guests who join us every year. I hope that they have as much fun at our Fabulous Fund Fair as the fun and happiness we bring back powered by our collective efforts. All the funds we’ve raised are vital to continue our work in family support services and inclusive play facilities for children of all abilities.”

 A world-edition fun fair

Guests including Madeline Stuart, an Australian model with Down’s syndrome, fresh from her London Fashion Week debut, as well as Pixie Lott, Hailey Baldwin and Lara Stone attended. Everyone was treated to an out of this world edition of a traditional funfair beginning with a Veuve Clicquot champagne reception. Entertainment wow’d from Warner Music Group as well as mind-bending magician Dynamo and actors from the National Youth Theatre.

Star-studded space attractions

In exchange for a donation to the Naked Heart Foundation guests also had the opportunity to spin the infamous Wheel of Fortune to win once in a lifetime prizes. The night’s favourite prize was a trip with Natalia Vodianova to her hometown Nizhny Novgorod to witness the work of the Naked Heart Foundation first hand. The lucky winners were treated to delights including “Caviar with Life” and Dom Pérignon champagne.

Out of this world production

“The creative storytelling was definitely a highlight and it remained true to the original designs. Roundhouse offers such a lot flexibility so we were able to transform the different areas. The arrival area was transformed into a space complete with astronauts, passport control and bag drop. The mezzanine was dressed as the observation deck with a feature cockpit and flight safety video starring Natalia herself. The reveal moment featured an operatic performance of The Fifth Element theme track plus a kabuki drop that revealed the flying chairs centrepiece ride. A circular truss complete with flashing lights and haze represented the space ship landing on Planet Fund Fair – a fun and fabulous mix of games, costumed aliens, food stalls, performances and DJ sets.”
