Roald Dahl books have transported us into worlds of imagination for years. The classic books offer readers the chance to dream.
In celebration of the much loved author’s centenary and to raise money to transform lives around the world, Private Drama produced an incredible fundraising dinner for Save the Children.
They transformed the Guildhall, London into a Roald Dahl dreamscape for 400 guests, including Poppy Delevingne, Grayson Perry, Myleene Klass, Mary Portas and Natasha Kaplinsky who were greeted on arrival by ‘The BFG’.
Travelling through the pages of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach and more, guests mingled with Mr and Mrs Twit and Fantastic Mr Fox, and sipped Witches’ Brew and Dream Catcher cocktails at the Marvellous Medicine Bar…
ROALD DAHL THEMED PARTY – WHAT WE LOVED
The totally immersive experience guests had from the moment they entered, greeted by Mrs Twit and given a drink by Fantastic Mr Fox.
WHAT THEY ATE
The highly bespoke food served by Fantastic Mr Fox styled staff included a Danny Champion of the World old fashioned garage styled food station serving miniature pies and pints – ox cheek or wild mushroom pies with liquor and potato foam ‘pints’.
Dinner began with Terrific Tinned Fish – house cured smoked sea trout, trout roe, quail eggs, micro carrots, borage, and finished with a Giant Peach dessert topped with a puffed wild rice ‘silk worm’, surrounded by delicate almond milk clouds.
This evening raised over £800,000 to transform children’s’ lives around the world.
