It’s Not Everyday It’s a 400th Birthday
Private parties at Aynhoe Park are the epitome of cool and quirky chic. This spectacular Grade I listed 17th century manor house in rural Oxfordshire has been described as an ‘architectural beauty queen’. Now home to entrepreneur and art collector James Perkins, his partner Sophie and their family. Restored by James, a veteran of the music industry, Aynhoe Park is brimming full of eccentricities and eclectic furnishings. The most incredible ornaments and features behind every corner waiting to be discovered.
To celebrate the 400th Birthday of the house, as well as the launch of their online lifestyle store; ‘A Modern Grand Tour’, a dinner party was held.
James and Sophie wanted to create a dining experience for guests that surpassed and rivalled the dinner parties that would have been hosted 400 years ago.
The Styling, Food and Ohhh The Entertainment
The table scape feast installation was designed with Tony and Xavier of By Appointment Only, incorporating fresh and golden sprayed fruit and vegetables into the floral styling. The design continued through to the tree growing out of the middle of the table inspired by the Aynhoe signature feather lamps!
In keeping with the flamboyant nature of Aynhoe Park and to compliment the decadent dinner, one of Pearl & Pear’s favourite suppliers, Bubblegum Balloons dressed the house with a variety of balloon arrangements.
Giant balloons in gold and plum tones filled the Orangery ceiling, creating an attention-grabbing canopy for guests as they dined on their four course delicious food by Stones Catering. The menu celebrated 400 years of food. Each course a twist on a popular dishes.
In the salon Bubblegum Balloons created a striking moon and star installation at the fireplace. Furthermore, there were giant gold balloons gracefully dancing around the ceiling with tassel tails. A scattering of golden balloons (with no helium) were also on the floor…
Every inch of this party had been thoughtfully designed and executed.
Decadent, flamboyant and fun!
WHAT WE LOVED
The balloon, disco ball, feather tree and pom-pom filled ceiling. Do ceilings ever get more perfect!
