“New management structure, fresh talent and a rebrand to match!”
2017 is the dawn of a new era for event caterer Moving Venue, with a new management structure, fresh talent and a rebrand to match! Taking inspiration from their name, the new logo is inspired by the heritage of their venue portfolio, as well as the coordinates corresponding to their base in Deptford. Never standing still, the logo too is an ever-changing feast, incorporating the coordinates of accredited venues and providing them with their very own unique Moving Venue logo!
New faces announced…
The rebrand also signifies another change for the company: the announcement of the new Group Managing Director of Catering – Tom Goodwin.
No stranger to catering, Tom, a chef by trade, first met Greg Lawson, CEO of Smart Group some twenty five years ago. As a waiter in fact at one of his early Christmas party companies! Tom first opened the restaurant Stones prior to creating Stones Events, the luxury party planning caterer based in Leicester who have recently celebrated their 10th birthday.
Despite Stones Events going from strength to strength, a move to London has been a natural progression for Tom. “I joined Moving Venue in January as a consultant, having engaged in a number of discussions with Greg about the future of the brand. What I found was a passionate and highly skilled team within this giantly respected caterer. However I felt they were missing out on their right place within the market. I have always looked up to Moving Venue, especially in the early days of my career, having a collection of menus dated back to 2004. Therefore to suddenly be working with this brand and to be instrumental in its next steps has been a challenge, I simply couldn’t say no to!”.
The final piece to the puzzle…
With the anticipation that Stones Events will join the Smart Group in early 2018, sitting alongside Moving Venue and Smart Hospitality under the Smart Group umbrella to create the overall catering division overseen by Tom.
Alongside recently promoted Sales and Marketing Director Chloe Martin, the two are remodelling the catering division to incorporate the style and creativity they share.
In conjunction with the rebrand, Moving Venue have made some exciting additions to the team including Ben Paris, who joins as Head of Sales previously at Dish, and Jay Decker, Group Head of Bars, formerly from Sushi Samba and The Ivy. These new hires further demonstrate the company’s willingness to invest in the right team and bring in talent from across the hospitality industry.
